Region Win!

The Boys Varsity Basketball team won their 3rd Region game of the year by beating Forest Park 58 – 54.  Terrill Curb lead the Lions with 22 points and 11 rebounds.  Devonja Frett scored 19 points of his own.

Boys & Girls Beat Drew

Friday night both our boys and girls basketball teams beat Drew High School.  The girls were lead by captain Ashlynn Green who had 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 2 assist and 2 blocks.  So. Alaija Coates scored 17 points by hitting five 3’s.  The lady Lions won 51-40.  The girls are now 3-2 in

Win over Lovejoy

The boys basketball team started the season off with a victory over Lovejoy on the road.  Starting off the season 1-0 in the region is big!  Devonte Frett had 20 points 4 boards and 2 assists.  Terrill Curb had 13 points and 4 boards, and Lamont Barner added 12 points of his own.

Voted Most Athletic

The 2017 Senior class has voted Andres Wyatt and Synebia Martin as most Athletic.  Andres plays point guard for our basketball team and corner for the football team.  He also takes snaps at quarterback from time to time. Synebia plays outfield on the softball team, and striker for the soccer team. She also kicked field

Boys Win Senior Night!

Congrats to the Boys Varsity Basketball team for beating Charles Drew High School on Senior Night!  The score was 58-46.This win also helped improve the boys seeding in the Region Tournament.  A 1st round win against Stephenson will send the boys to the State Playoffs!  Good luck!

4 IN A ROW

Our Boys basketball team has finished the first half of the season on a 4 game win streak. They took care of business against Cross keys, obtaining a lead in the first quarter and never letting up.  Go Lions!

3 Game Win Streak

Big win for the MLK Lions last night against Lovejoy High School.  The King boys started off strong from the tip.  Rebounding, Boxing out, Defense, and working hard were the keys to victory.  Start strong and finish strong! Go Lions!   Written By: Jerome Smith

Boys Beat Mount Zion

December 10th was a tremendous win and Coach Tony Brienson described it as “a great game with all out effort an teamwork from the entire team especially Adorian Nicolson and Atravious Smith. MLK 57 Mundys Mill 46

The Boys Basketball team got their first win of the season, Friday night, over Mundy’s Mill. Sr. Xavier Benton dominated the game in the paint, scoring 12 points.  He also lead the team in both blocks and rebounds.  Also having good games were Adorian Nicholson 15 points, and Atreyu Smith 17 points.
