1000 Point Club

1000 Points by Center Zeela Smith   Last night MLK Girls Basketball took on the Jonesboro Cardinals. Starting off at a good pace and keeping the lead, the Lady Lions finished with a win. Point guard Azhana Maxwell scored her 1000th point, but have the most points in the history of the program.

Our Boys basketball team has finished the first half of the season on a 4 game win streak. They took care of business against Cross keys, obtaining a lead in the first quarter and never letting up.  Go Lions!

Lady Lions Win!

The ML King Girls get their third win of the season, by beating Cross Keys.  The game was tight in the first half.  But after halftime the ML King Full Court press picked up the pressure, and the Lady Lions pulled away with the victory.  Jr. Azhana Maxwell Showed a lot of heart and leadership

3 Game Win Streak

Girls Beat Mt. Zion

Saturday our ML King Girls played Mt. Zion. The final score was 58-48. Defensively our girls utilized both man and zone schemes. Kimberly Redding lead by example, by showing a lot of hustle. Azhana Maxwell is their leading scorer. She averages 20 ppg, 5 boards, and 4 steals. Azhana is a complete player. Coach Wilson

Boys Beat Mount Zion

December 10th was a tremendous win and Coach Tony Brienson described it as “a great game with all out effort an teamwork from the entire team especially Adorian Nicolson and Atravious Smith. We played against Mount Zion High School for our regional game and it was a win of 58-40”. Written by Camae Lindo

JV Cheer Competition

Cheerleaders at State Competition

Congrats on Varsity Cheers 2nd place finish at Regionals and appearance in the State competition.  The teams hard work and dedication to long summer camps, and working with their tumbling coach has really paid off.  They hope to go back again next year and win the region and the state.       Written By:
