MLK Peer Essence a group of young ladies who strive for higher education, self-respect, self-esteem and class!

Peer Essence was established in February, 2011 by Harry Sapp (“Coach Sapp”), an instructor at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School in Lithonia, Georgia. Coach Sapp was concerned about the things he was seeing in the day-to-day lives of high school students. He, therefore, set out to “capture” the young ladies at the beginning of their high school experience – a very crucial time for them.

It is Coach Sapp’s desire that as these young ladies continue on their life’s journey, that they… understand how to respect others and, in turn, receive respect, become overall high achievers in the educational field, become better citizens and, last but not least… become young educated women.
